Workshop: Slate coasters

This design was hand drawn, filled in with fineliner and then lasered onto the slate.

Somehow I kept a steady hand after a couple of glasses of mulled wine!

Glass Painting & Fusion

Workshop @ Gelf Studios, Bletchley, Milton Keynes

Led by Kathryn Flegg who produces beautiful artisan kiln fused glass pieces.

We started with sketching the design onto a paper template of the arched shaped glass. I then used special glass paint to draw the outline using a fine 'drawing' tool. Once I had finished the painting stage layers of frit glass powders were added onto the design of the sun and the tree elements.

The design was then fired in a kiln, placed into a wooden block and I am very pleased
with the finished result!

Workshop: Tree of Life

 

Today I attended The Tree of Life workshop with Art for Wellbeing MK. 

I learnt how to do laminating using squares of tissue paper. 

Very pleased with the result.

Paint pouring fun!

Tried my hand at acrylic paint pouring for the first time, used a kit and started with pebbles and marbling inks which turned out really well.

The green/blue canvas was done with paint puddle technique. I ran out of paint when

creating his one. Note to self, more paint required for pouring!

Blue and white paint, followed by green and white paint.

The next two canvases were done using the flip cup technique - I think they look quite effective:

A mix of purple and white acrylic plus pink micron with pouring medium created 'Purple River'.

A mixture of blue and green micron, and white acrylic with pouring medium created 'Blue River'.
